One, Lose One
The Rappahannock Panthers played the Madison Mountaineers on the Madison Court Saturday night. There was no question as to the' outcome when Madison pulled to the} front by five points in the! first quarter and kept that lead until they pulled ahead by 14 points in the third quarter and went on to win Madison 60 Rappahannock 48. Madison’s Tanner was high scorer with 26 points, 2nd} and 3rd were Rappahannock’s Charles Dodson with 221 points and Roy Reeves with 12 and in fourth place was Madison’s Hawkins with 11 points. The Rappahannock Panthers lost one game and were victorious in another in games Saturday and Tuesday nights. The win was a league game but the loss was not district play. Tuesday night the Panthers I traveled to Elkton to chalk up a realtively easy victory over the Elks. The Panthers pulled ahead in the first quarter and remained in the lead throughout. Half time showed Rappahannock with a 9-point lead. In the third, the Panthers made only six points, but a strong drive in the final had the scoreboard showing a 5844 victory for the cats. Bobby Settle was high man with 17 points; Wayne Deal was pushing with 16 and Charles Dodson backed them up with 13. Friday night the Panthers will travel to Warren County to face the Wildcats.
