A Culpeper fireman was treated in Culpeper Memorial Hospital and later taken to University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville with possible inhalation of chemical fumes. However, he was treated and returned home about 2 a.m. with no apparent serious effects.
Sweetheart Campaign
The Sweetheart Campaign at Rappahannock County High School is underway and progress is steady as six young ladies compete for the title. Candidates for the Sweetheart crown are Catherine Stringfellow, Mary Lynn Smelley, Joan Kay Welch, Teresa Cordani, Beverly Payne and Eleanor Rector. Votes are cast for the candidate of your choice at a penny each and all funds realized go to the Scholarship Loan Fund of the School. The winner will be chosen and a coronation dance held Saturday night at the school with students and their dates attending.
Flint Htll Game Night
Game night will be held at the Flint Hill Fire Hall on Saturday, February 10th at 7;30 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend this benefit for the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company.

Because she ranked first in a written homemakipg knowledge and attitude test given senior girls in Rappahannock County H. S. here December 5, Jennifer L. Mallory becomes 1968 Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow for her school, it has been announced. Registered for the test, now in its 14thyear, were 603,798 girls in 15,079 of the nation’s high schools, a new record for the program sponsored by General Mills.
Jennifer remains in contention for state and national scholarship awards ranging from $500 to $5,000 and will be awarded a specially design
