Miss Rebecca Estelle Kanak of Hopewell has been chosen Virginia’s Junior Miss 1968 in a Beauty Pageant helehSaturday in Roanoke. She is a niece of Mr. and Mrs^T. Morgan Johnston of Washington, Va., and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Kanak of Hopewell. Mrs. Kanak is the former Beatrice Johnston who was reared and educated in Rappahannock. Miss Kanak is 18, a senior at Hopewell High School. She has studied piano for 10years and won the local talent contest playing an excerpt from Chopin’s Scherzo in B Flat.
