Many of you may be in the market for home furnishings this year-or even if you’re just an “onlooker" you maybe interested in the trends in this area of spring and fall. A knitted fabric made of vinyl plastic is designed for botfi clothing and upholstery and is coming in ‘68. It’s now being experimented on in pillow cases. Much to the relief of many, I’m sure is the change in decorative fabric design. Colors will be softer with colors used being the more subtle - mature colors. Patterns will not be as big, daring and bold as they have been in the past, instead they will be broken into more intricately drawn, many facet areas. From furniture land, we see the following trends: once again curves are important. This time it’s laminated on, and in mirrored steel contour ed for lounging. Many chairs are being made of steel, fiberglass and laminated wood. In woods we see the return of the ash blond with the light, waxy beige woods with bare grains being important.
If you're in the market for rugs, the big news is in the small pattern. Many new designs are being used in even newer fibers. Finally in accessories - interest still shows us using foliage plants, indoors as well as out. Both the container and the plant add interest, color and distinction to your room.
