Three Qualify

As Safe Hunters

Three Rappahannock County boys, Wayne Deal, Richard Gore and Steve Gore, successfully completed the NIVA Hunter Safety Course during the past week. The course was given by the Virginia Game Commission and the cost of materials was paid for by the Rappahannock Game and Fish Club. The course consisted of three hours in the classroom plus the last day of firing under range condition and the final examination. The primary purpose of the course was firearm safety. In work ing toward this end the areas covered were general knowledge of guns, their operation and capability, the obligation of the shooters to their fellow sportsmen and to landowners, the basics of good shooting, plus the ever important rules of safe gun handling. The final exam showed that ill three boys has an excellent understanding of the course material, and even more important they demonstrated that :hey were safe gun handlers vith a gun in hand while iring.
