Warns on Disasters
“If it weren’t for the law of averages which says, ‘so many 'disasters will occur in Virginia this year,’ our volunteers and staff would have a much easier time of it,” said I Floyd L. Pillow today. 1 Last year 406 families in Virginia received American Red Cross assistance in the wake of 363 disasters of varying magnitude, according to Pillow, who is Red Cross state relations representative. During March, which is Red 1 Cross Month, Pillow is emphasizing the Red Cross attitude in regard to natural disasters. He sums it up, hus: "We are ready at any time to help those hit by a disaster, whether it be large or small, effecting scores of people or a single family."
