Panthers Raise

Record to 3-1

The Rappahannock Panthers raised their record to 3-1 Tuesday night defeating Stonewall Jackson 71-64 after suffering an 83-49 defeat at the hands of Broadway Friday night. The Panthers now hold a share of second place in Group II District 10 standings behind unbeaten Broadway and Luray.

The Panthers found themselves on the wrong end of an 33-49 score Friday as a tall Broadway team proved too much for Rappahannock. Sixfoot-six-inch Gary Burkholder poured in 21 points for Broadway and controlled the boards all night. Bobby Settle led the Panther attack with 14 points. C. H. Jaycees Contribute

The Rappahannock Jaycees have appropriated $250 to be used for Christmas charity this season. Of this amount $150 will be given Mrs. Elizabeth Buntin for clothing for foster children under the supervision of the Rappahannock County Welfare Department.
