Several persons received minor injuries in a single-car crash Sunday afternoon near Amissville. John Williams of Catlett was operating a 59 Pontiac owned by his brother James Williams of Amissville on Route 643 west of Amissville. He ran off the right of the road and struck a rock wall at Buniee Farm, owned by D. G. Laing.

John Williams and Martha Smith, also of Catlett, were taken to Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton where they were treated for lacerations and contusions^and released. James Williams sustained lacerations of the face and a leg injury. Helen Williams of Amissville had a lacerated mouth and back injury. Hiey were not hospitalized.

Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $500, according to Trooper W. A. Buntin, who investigated. Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Routes 522 and 647 in Flint Hill Monday shortly past noon. James Lester Burke of Washington, Va. operating a 63 Ford truck and Richard David Danielson of Bemus Point, N. Y. in a 68 Chevrolet were involved. Damage was estimated at $150 to the truck and $500 to the car, according to Trooper J. B. Willis.

Town Lighting Contest Judging Xmas Eve

The Christmas Lighting and Decorating contest for the Town of Washington will be held again

thisjyear and judging will take plact Christmas Eve between 8 and s0 p.m.

Tdwn residents and subscribers of the town water system will be eligible for entry and judging. Hie contest tends to promote interest in making the town more attractive during the holiday season and focus attention on safety and fire prevention.

Council member Mrs. Berths Arm&i is in charge of having the Town Christmas Tree lighted. Hie tree is located on the small lot adjoining the Rappahannock National Bank.
