Trout Disease Meeting Planned

Fishery technicians from Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio are scheduled to meet with representatives of the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., December 18 to discuss ways of controlling the spread of whirling disease which affects trout. The disease, which originated in northern Europe, has been found in U. S. trout hatcheries. In Virginia, the disease has apparently been limited to commercial facilities to date.
