Garden Club Offers
Student Scholarship
The Rappahannock County Garden Club has a scholarship grant available to a 1969 graduate of a high school who wishes to further his education. The grant will be awarded a student for two years and is not restricted to use for tuition, but may be used for transportation, clothing, etc. The scholarship may be used by a student attending a business or trade school or a college, but must be a resident of Rappahannock County.
Applications must be in by April 1 and application blanks may be obtained from C. E. Johnson, Jr. of Sperryville.
Receives Student Honors
The office of the Dean of Students at the University of Virginia has announced that Page Moffett, son of Judge and Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Jr. of Washington will be a recipient of Intermediate Honors at the Founder’s Day ceremonies. This high academic award is given for excellence in studies during the first two years of attendance in one of the undergraduate Schools of the University. The awarding of Intermediate Honors will be a part of the University’s celebration of Mr. Jefferson’s birthday during its Sesquicentennial Year.
Faculty-Sr. Games
Scheduled Mar. 26
Two basketball games are scheduled for Wednesday, March 26 on the Rappahannock County High School court. The senior girls will be competing with the women of the school faculty and the senior boys (not the varsity) versus the male faculty. These should be very interesting contests.
Game time is 7 p.m. for the ladies tilt and the men’s game wiil follow. Admission is $1.00 for adults and 50 cents for students. Proceeds will be divided among the seniors for a trip to Williamsburg, the athletic fund and general fund.
