The time of field and brush fires is on us once again. Fire companies in the county are being kept busy with the usual rash of spring fires. Monday Washington Fire Department was called to Wakefield Manor the farm of Mrs. Noyes at Huntly where a fire was burning out of control. Wind whipped the blaze into the boxwood gardens where numerous plants were destroyed. The green boxwoods burned like tinder. Residents are warned to heed the burning laws now in effect.
