Miss Deirdre Munro, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Munro of Montelery Farm, Castleton, received the Junior College and the Equitation Certificate from Southern Seminary Junior College at Buena Vista on Friday, May 29. Miss Munro was one of 113 graduates who composed Southern Seminary’s 103rd graduating class. The degrees were awarded, by Dr. Sidney E. Sandridge, President of *the college, who also delivered the commencement address.

Over 800 Subscribers Joint Concert Series

More than 800 subscribers joined the recently organized Community Concert Series with headquarters in Culpeper. Of these at least 130 were Rappahannock residents. The group anticipates a most successful season with three performances scheduled.

Summer 4-H Group

Next Wednesday, June 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Flint Hill Fire Hall the Senior 4-H Club will meet. Summer activities and projects will be planned.

On Thursday, June 11, Rappahannock 4-H’ers will tour the Naval Academy at Annapolis, have lunch at Jonas Green Park and then tour the Zoo. The bus will leave Washington at 7 a.m. Thursday morning returning at 5:30 p.m. that afternoon. Six dollar fee ($6.00) must be sent to the Extension Office no later than Monday, June 8th.

Swimming Classes will begin on June 16 at 5:30 p.m. at Dr. Werner Krebser’s pool at Meadowbrook Hall. The fee is $2.50, end the classes are limited to only those who can already swim at least 20 feet. Applicants are accepted on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions about the classes, please call 675-3619.

4-H Camp will be held July 13-18 at Powell’s Fort Valley In Shenandoah County. The cost is $15.00 and the deadline for applications is June 15th.
