Are you a heavy smoker who is wondering if it may be too late to quit? Does a dry cough remind you each morning that your smoking habit may be leading to serious lung damage? Would you like to have a doctor’s advice on the best ways to discourage your children from smoking?
Questions like these require expert answers, so the Tuberculosis and Health Association of Northern Virginia is running a “Smoker’s Hot Line” in this paper the last two weeks of June. Subscribers’ questions about smoking and health will be published in the “Hot Line” column, and answers will be provided by a local member of the Medical Advisory Committee. Queries should be sent to the Tuberculosis and Health Association of Northern Virginia, P. 0. Box 1128, Front Royal, Virginia 22630, or persons may call 635-5400, collect, week days from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Confidential replies will be provided on request, and every question will be answered.
June is national “Kick The Habit” month, when Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease Associations will step up efforts to direct public attention to the perils of smoking. Two booklets: “Me Quit Smoking4? Why?”, and “Me Quit Smoking”? How?” are available from the Front Royal office at 17 S. Royal Avenue.
