I John R. Gore
John Robert Gore, ol Washington, Va. died Monday, June 1,1970, at Warren Memorial Hospitiri, Front Royal.
Mr. Gore, a fanner, was bom July 12, 1885, son of the late John B. and Martha Racer Gore, of Rappahannock County.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie P. Gore and a son, Milton C. Gore, both of Washington, and one grandson; a brother, Henry C. Gore of Fredericksburg; and one sister Mrs. Tenie Updyke of Sperryviile.
A graveside funeral service was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Washington Masonic Cemetery conducted by the Rev. William Harrison. Pallbearers were Reid Partlow, Russell Partlow, Jimmy Gaunt, H. D. Gilbert, John Gaunt and Billy Partlow. The Clore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bessie Quaintance
A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Bessie Ramsey Quaintance, 76, of Slate Mills, was held Friday at 4 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper. Mrs. Quaintance, widow of Dr. R. W. Quaintance, Sr. died May 27, 1970 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
She was the daughter of the Vate Montraville P. and Jessie McGann Ramsey. Survivors include two sons, Dr. R. W. Quaintance of Culpeper and Barton P. Quaintance of Wilmington, Dela.; a sister, Miss Elsie O. Ramsey of Slate Mills, and ten grandchildren.
The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. John S. Farrar of the Culpeper Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Worthy Thompson, Tom Armstrong, Carter White, James Quaintance, James Jalbert, Harry Kennedy, George Beard and W. P. Lewis.
