i The members of Washington Fire Department and Rappahannock Rescue Squad were pleased with the results of the benefit carnival held in June. According to Fire Chief Ennis Jenkins gross receipts totaled $7,251.19.
Castleton Carnival
Prize Winners
The prizes awarded Saturday night at the close of the firemen’s carnival in Castleton went to: Frank Smith, Castleton, riding lawn tractor; Paul A. Poling, Amissville, shotgun; Homer E. Henry, Castleton, set of auto tires. The inclement weather interrupted activities at the carnival one night and a downpour Thursday prevented opening at all that night. In spite of these setbacks, the fire company was pleased with results and expressed appreciation to all for attending, helping, working or assisting in any manner.
Revival Set At Beecl* Springs Baptist Church
Elder Donald Barnes of Athens, West Virginia will be conducting Revival Services at the Beech Spring Regular Baptist Church, near Sperryville July 20th through July 26th, each evening at 8 p.m.
