Rappahannock County families are going in for home improvements in a big way these days.
They are spending more money for alterations, additions, replacement and maintenance than they ever did.
In the past year, local home owners spent an estimated $265,000 to spruce up their homes, based upon government data showing average outlays per housing unit in the regional area. It represented an average expenditure locally of $221 per unit. Nationally, the average was $285.
