This bear went over the mountain and was bagged just inside the Rappahannock County line at Chester Gap Monday by Sam Aitken of Stevensburg. “The 430 pound animal was downed with the first shot, 1 think,” said the hunter, “But I shot twice more just to be sure, since it was such a huge animal.” He was using a 30.06 Browning.
