Mrs. Elizabeth Bowen
Mrs. Elizabeth Virginia Bowen, 82, of Sperry ville, widow of Oakley Brown, died November 15, 1971 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton. She was a native of Rappahannock County, daughter of the late James and Fannie Atkins. Surviving are three sons, Charlie C. Bowen of Lovettsville, LeoM. and James W. Bowen, both of Sperryville; five daughters, Mrs. Mabel B. Woodward of Warrenton, Mrs. Magdalene D. Dwyer of Sperryville, Mrs. Mildred B. Frazier of Remington, Mrs. Fannie B. Clatterbuck of The Plains and Mrs. Edna B. Canard of Amissville; 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include one brother, Charlie Atkins of Sperryville; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Tyner and Miss Nellie Atkins, both of Sperryville, Miss Pattie Atkins and Mrs. Lois A. Frazier of Warrenton. A funeral service will be held Thursday (today) at 2 p.m. at Thornton Gap Primitive Baptist Church conducted by Elder Clarence R. Frazier. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memory
