Mrs. J. L. Tur“ner and Mrs. T. C. Lea were in Richmond Saturday and visited Mrs. William S. Dewhirst and infant son at the Stuart Circle Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. John J. McLeod and daughter Laura of Falls Church are spending several days with Mrs. McLeod’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ian Pryde at Blue Rock Farm. Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Burke spent from Friday through Monday with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William P. Hershey at Bristol, Pa. On Saturday they attended races at Garden State Park, Cherry Hill, N. J. Jennifer McNear, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard McNear of Greenwood Farm, celebrated her first birthday on Saturday. She shared her birthday celebration with her grandfather, Col. E. A. McNear. Others present for the occasion were Mrs. McNear, Col. McNear’s mother, Mrs. Arthur McNear and Mrs. B. M. Miller.

Mrs. Bertha Armel returned home Saturday from Winchester Memorial Hospital and on Monday resume her duties at the County Welfare Office.

Miss Moffett Initiated Into

Alpha Phi Sigma

Miss Carter Moffett, daughter of Judge and Mrs. W. F. Moffett of Washington, Va., was recently initiated into Alpha Phi Sigma, National Honor Scholarship Fraternity. Membership in Alpha Phi Sigma is decided upon academic excellence and overall service to the college community. Miss Moffett is a Junior at Mary Washington College, majoring in Political Science. She is an officei in the International Relations Club, Representative of all Political Science Majors to ths Faculty and Administration anc Chairman of the Junior Class Ring Committee. In addition, Cartel will serve on the Student-Faculty Committee on Financial Affairs
