Rappahannock Homemaker Club members and friends assembled at Chester Gap Thursday evening for the annual Achievement Night program of the county clubs. More than 75 people attended and were welcomed by Mrs. Thomas Leake, president of the Chester Gap Club. Mrs. Hubert Gilkey, of Chester Gap, who is County Chairman, presided over the program. Devotions were offered by the Rev. Roy Mathena, pastor of Chester Gap Baptist Church, and visitors were recognized by Mrs. Charlie Priest of Amissville, who is County Vice Chairman. Mrs. Mary R. Miller, Flint Hill, called the roll.
A group of Chester Gap youngsters, members of the summer 4-H club, presented entertainment which was a demonstration of old and modern dancing.
Mrs. James Falls of Woodville, Chairman of the County Safety Committee, introduced the guest speaker, Braxton James of Amissville, who spoke on Fire Prevention and Safety in the Home. He explained the need for a planned fire evacuation schedule with practiced fire drills in the home and showed how dangerous
