THIS IS THE TIME OF THE YEAR that we are thinking about new clothes or changes in the old. Accessorizing is one of the easiest ways to extend your wardrobe. It can give a basic outfit that up-to-date look in a relatively inexpensive way. Accessories used to an advantage can make clothing more becoming by emphasizing good features and drawing attention away from your bad ones. An ensemble is much more effective if only one center of interest is used and other details are subordinated to it. Regardless of how attractive each individual item may be, too many bidding for attention not only creates confusion and results in no emphasis at all, but is also lacking in good taste. Keep in mind that an added center of interest is not always needed. Many costumes have their own design interest - patterned fabric, unusual buttons, or an interesting design line - which may be spoiled by any additional items. In this case plain accessories are the best choice.
