Miss Charlene Gail Parson, daughter of Colonel and Mrs. Nels August Parson of The Parsonage, Washington, Va. and Fort Belvoir, was married to Stephen McCrae Willingham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Willingham III of Alexandria, on Saturday, April 29.
The wedding was held in the blossoming apple orchard at The Parsonage farm under a sunny spring sky. The altar was of split rails and a natural stone platform with bowls of white shasta daisies on either side.
Guitar music selections were played by Bobbie Harro of Carlisle, Pa. as friends and relatives from several states and Washington, D.C. gathered for the ceremony at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
The bride, dressed in a long white ruffled pinafore laced with light blue ribbons and a circlet of white shasta daisies trailing blue ribbons in her long hair, exchanged gold rings with the bridegroom in a beautiful ceremony of readings and vows given by the bride and bridegroom and conducted by the Rev. James L. Duley of Aldersgate Methodist Church, Alexandria.
