If a man decides to stop work at 60 he may use part of the resources he has built on his own to provide income until his Social Security payments begin at age of 62 or 65. On the other hand, if he decides to continue working until 70, he may wait until then to take income from his own resources. In the meantime, they can be increasing through interest on his savings, additional values growing in his permanent life insurance or dividends from his investments.
It is never too early to begin planning for the time in your life when your income will become more fixed and probably lower than you have been use to living on. □
