Charles Manuel Campbell of Amissville was arraigned in Rappahannock Circuit Court Monday morning the opening day of the May term, on charges ranging from robbery to murder. He entered a not guilty plea to four charges and Friday, June 23, was the date set for the trial.

Ernest Moffett Smith, also of Amissville, who was facing four charges, was ill in the state penitentiary hospital, and will be arraigned at a later date.

The four charges stemmed from the September 1970 murder of a hitchhiker, John Swan Sutton of Arlington, at Lombardy Lunch Room, and the subsequent robbery of the restaurant in Amissville. □
