man told me, says he, “Si, if you have any wild oats to sow, you had better sow them now.” Not his exact' words, however. Maybe I have missed a lot, but/my philosophy is if you don’t sow ‘em, you don’t have to reap ‘em. Or, if you burn the candle at both ends it only lasts half as long.

At this season I am reminded of a sweet girl graduate. I went to the college graduation night to see her get her sheepskin. Was she beautiful. It seems that the dean was retiring. Anyway, at the close of his speech he recited a poem that went something like this:

“Farewell, sweet maids, I have no song to give you.

No lark could pipe to skies so dull and gray.

But, ere we part, this lesson I would leave you

For every day,

Be good, sweet maids, and let who will be clever.

Do noble things, not just dream them all day long.

And so make life, death, and that Great Forever

A grand sweet song.”

I’ve never seen so many tears in so many beautiful eyes. You never hear of sweet boy graduates, but, I think the poem could apply to both sexes. Out there in God’s Great Forever is a place for you. Fill it well. □
