THE “Welcome to Washington Club’’ was founded in 1959 in response to the “People to People” program instituted by the late President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
It is an associate of the International Visitors Service Council of Greater Washington Organizations. The sharing of interests and activities provides the formal program of the club which has more than 700 members, half from the United States and half from other nations. The membership is divided into many groups and each has an opportunity to acquire knowledge of other countries and share their talents and training. □
