Amazing decision A PARADE OF PUBLIC officials went before a judge in Prince William County last week to testify to overcrowded conditions in the eastern part of their county, conditions caused by too-rapid residential growth. School officials told of crowded schools and year-round classes in Dale City; the county engineer told of drainage and siltation problems; the resident Highway Department engineer told of mounting traffic problems; and finally, the county attorney cited the Board of Supervisors’ basic right to look after the health, safety and welfare of all the citizens in its jurisdictions. So the judge upheld the county’s refusal to approve further construction in Dale City, until existing difficulties had been corrected — right? Wrong!
