Tech signs Groover
JOHN GROOVER OF CULPEPER, lineman for the Culpeper Blue Devil gridders, has signed a full grant-in-aid scholarship with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Signing took place Saturday, the first day that the players were eligible for firm commitments. Groover was considered one of the top 29 men on the East Coast. He is 6-2, weighs 200 pounds and is very quick, according to Devil football coach Gerald Bobbitte, who was present for the Tech signing along with Groover’s parents Mrs. Nora Groover and Larry Groover.
The Groovers are former residents of Rappahannock and lived at Castleton. □
