Apple butter boiling was the project undertaken last week by members of the Chester Gap Fire Company and Auxiliary. Huge shiny copper kettles bubbled merrily over gas fired burners in the fire hall (this way you don’t get smoke in your eyes) while all present took turns stirring the large vats with long-handled wooden paddles.
