Under Option II, a landowner would complete the reforestation project utilizing his own labor, materials and equipment; a contractors labor, material and equipment; industry material, labor and equipment; or state-owned labor, materials and equipment, or any combination.
He would have to pay all of his expenses and then submit copies of this receipt to the State Forester for determination of his incentive payment. The incentive payment would amount to $20 per acre or 50 percent of the actual cost per acre, whichever would be the lesser figure.
THE LANDOWNER is eligible to receive a loan, free of interest, for up to 75 percent of the costs incurred (the loan will not exceed $30 per acre) for preparing the area and planting trees. The loan must be supported by a recorded lien on the reforested area.
