chosen to go on a candlelight tour of the craft houses and we all went to the William and Mary Field House.
Thanks to the college’s alumni association (one of our Chaperones had gone to W&M) we were invited to a track meet for free.
AFTER about an hour we went back , to our hotel and watched some TV and went to bed.
At 7:15 a.m. Sunday morning we wearily awoke and got ready for breakfast. We ate at the cafeteria again and the food was really great.
After breakfast we went on a tour of several shops, the Governor’s Palace and the Capitol. There were so many fragile things I was afraid to touch anything. At the Palace, there were fantastic English formal gardens, including a holly bush maze.
IT WAS easy to get to the center of this maze, but hard to get back out.
I forgot to mention that all of these tours were conducted by trained Colonial Williamsburg guides and interpreters, who made the past really come back no life.
At 1 p.m. we boarded our buses, went to a hamburger place outside the town for lunch, and then started back to Rappahannock. We got back at the school at 6 p.m., tired and filled with memories.
