PEGGY AtfN Tharpe of Castleton sustained face injuries when her car crashed into a bank February 6 on Route 211 near Ben Venue. Mrs. Tharpe was treated in Winchester Memorial Hospital for a fractured jaw.

According to Trooper R. A. Baines, Mrs.' Tharpe said she lost control of her 62 Ford after a large van passed and cut in closely in front of her. She ran off the right of the highway, veered back across it and struck the left embankment. The vehicle was declared a total loss.

In front of Sperryville Corner Store, February 4, two vehicles were involved ir. a collision in which five persons were injured. Trooper W. A. Buntin, who investigated the accident, said a 1971 Ford station wagon driven by Alexander May of Youngstown, Ohio and a 63 Chevrolet operated by Lewis William Dodson of Sperryville collided at the Intersection.
