SOME 18 farm residents erf Rappahannock County are in the running for three Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation (ASC) community committees according to County ASCS Executive Director J. W. Coates.
The mail election for ASC community committeemen is’ being held this month, and ballots were mailed November 19 to all persons eligible to vote in the farmer committee elections. The final date for mailing voted ballots, or for dropping them off at the county ASCS office, is December 3. Ballots will be counted on December 4th in the county ASCS office, Washington, Va., with the public invited to attend.
On December 17 the newly elected community committeemen will holda county convention to nominate and elect one county committee member and two alternates. The newly-elected county committee member will serve for three year, the alternates for one year.
