Sperryville by-pass

plan is opposed

A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING “Line A” to just widen Route 211 through Sperryville, instead of building a by-pass, was approved-jay the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission last Thursday. The Planning District Commission, which includes representatives from Rappahannock, Fauquier and Orange Counties, was asked by the state Highway Department to comment on the Sperryville by-pass plans.

The Highway Department plans to four-lane Route 211 from the Page County line either through or around Sperryville. The state cannot four-lane the road through Page county in the Shenandoah National Forest; park rules won’t let them.
