A DEED for 6.5 acres along the Rush River was conveyed Tuesday to the Rappahannock Recreation Association from Colonel Earl E. Holmes, and Granville Eastham, president of the Recreation Association, forsees no problem ’ in having the deed made out to the Association instead of to the county.
Commonwealth’s Attorney George Davis had said a£- the July meeting of the Board of Supervisors that he thought trie'ie**d might have to be deeded to ine' county before the Supervisors cold accept a $15,000 Federal grant for construction of the recreation center.
Davis refrained from giving a legal opinion until he could “see all the legal documents involved;” but he told the Supervisors that he thought the county should have title to the land because the county would be required to return all grant funds in the event something happened and the project was not completed.
Eastham had responded to Davis’s comments at that meeting by saying the deed was being prepared
