FARMERS IN Virginia are being asked to get ready for the 20th nationwide census of Agriculture which will be conducted during the first part of 1975 by the Bureau of Census.
G. Wayne Burkhart, associate professor of agricultural economics and Extension specialist in farm management at Virginia Tech, said that having accurate and detailed records will make it easy for farmers to comply with the federal agency’s request.
The Bureau of Census is part of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Social and Economic Statistics Administration, Burkhart said.
The Tech specialist said that farmers will receive their report forms by mail early next January and that they should fill them out and mail them back promptly. Questions, Burkhart said, will be much like those in the last agriculture census which covered farming and ranching during 1969.
