MRS. ARTHLINDA Quaintance, also from Sperryville, retired after teaching nine years in the elementary school. But she’ll be keeping in touch with what goes on in Rappahannock’s schools; Mrs. Quaintance has been appointed to the school board to fill out the term of Verdie Jones.
Before coming to Rappahannock, Mrs. Quaintance’s husband’s home county, nine years ago, she taught school in New Jersey.
Mrs. Dorothy Riddleburger of Front Royal was another retiree. Mrs. Riddleburger had taught the third grade at Rappahannock Elementary School for six years. “I’m looking forward to some travel, some bridge and a lot of golf,” she said. “There’s plenty I can do to stay busy.” Mrs. Riddleburger has lived in Front Royal for 35 years.□
