“BUILDING Yourself A Mountain Through 4-H” was the theme for the boys and girls from Rappahannock, Page, and Warren Counties at Powell’s Fort Valley 4-H Camp last week.
A normal day at 4-H Camp began at 7 a.m. reveille followed by .7:30 a.m. flag raising and breakfast after a clean-up period and assembly morning classes started. The boys and girls were able to take classes in swimriling, crafts, outdoor cookery, first aid, nature study and archery. After lunch the “Indian Tribes” met for a big pow-wow followed by afternoon activities which included softball, swimming, horseshoes, volley ball, ping-pong and other fun activities.
Each evening at camp there were special programs: A get-acquainted party, a rodeo, an “Indian Night, ” a talent show and a carnival. The evening pro
