THE 25th Annual Rappahannock County Labor Day Invitational Amateur Mixed Doubles Whistlecup Tennis Tournament will see 36 partnerships competing this year.
“The tournament also will see new champions,” said Mrs. N. K. G. Tholand, chairman of the event “since last year’s winning combination of Rowland and Katherine Evans will be broken up.”
“Because they were new to the county,” Mrs. Tholand said, “the committee waived the rule against husband-and-wife partnerships. It was a mistake. They mopped up on everybody.
