RLEP attorneys will argue that the SCC failed to give sufficient weight to evidence showing that existing corridors are both reliable and economical alternatives to new high voltage transmission towers. New corridors are not needed to serve consumer interests and threaten unnecessary damage to Rappahannock’s landscape and agriculture, the league contends.
IN authorizing the appeal, RLEP has accepted additional liabilities amounting to about $6000. More than $2000 of this is a direct fee to the SCC which, unlike Virginia courts, charges substantially to transfer the commission record to the supreme court for hearings on an appeal.
