House Tour
THE 18TH ANNUAL HOUSE TOUR to be held in Rappahannock County on October 18 and 19 will be sponsored by the Rappahannock Historical Society in conjunction with the Dried Flower Arrangement Sale sponsored by the Episcopal Churchwomen of Bromfield Parish. The Tour will feature two log cabins, a pre-Revolutionary era home and a modern dwelling.
Mountain Green,.home of many generations of Millers is situated in Harris Hollow (Route 622) and is owned by Capt. and Mrs. George H. Sharp. Here tea will be served both afternoons starting at 2 p.m. On this property an old log cabin will be open for tour.
The other cabin is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson and is situated in the Old Hollow (Route 600) about three miles from Sperryville. This was reconstructed from logs from chestnut trees which stood in the Ghost Forest of Shenandoah National Park.
The architecturally interesting modern dwelling is the home of Mr. and Mrs. Waldron O’Connor and is located on Long Mountain (Route 626), overlooking Tiger Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
