THE Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board will have $3.8 million more in funds for distribution to local governments than it did last year. Of the $29.7 million dollars in ABC profits, one third, $19.3 million, will be funneled into local governments’ treasuries. The remaining $10.4 million will go directly into the State’s general fund.
According to a release from the ABC, most of the increase in profits came from a one percent markup introduced in August 1974. Price increases imposed by the distilleries which were passed on to the consumers also increased ABC’s nrnfits •
