Your editorial published November 13, 1975 in the Rappahannock News entitled, “Save the Farmland’’ was undoubtedly the best article I have read anywhere in years; however, I do not feel anyone can add further words, for the article was complete, accurate and precisely to the point.
Nevertheless, having been born and reared in Rappahannock County for nearly 20 years where I was taught values, respect, trust and decency for the fellow man, it is very difficult for me to become accustomed to other ways of life which includes neighboring counties, for there are no people more friendly, kind, considerate and respectful than the country people of Rappahannock County.
Rappahannock should be able to continue with local government without interference from state and federal governments. For a free democracy in which we live, I feel our freedoms are vanishing too rapidly for a free country to remain tree.
