Re-cycling
is planned
A recycling collection area is being established for the use of Rappahannock residents who wish to recycle paper and glass. A trailer will be located behind Merrill's Garage in Washington beginning Saturday, December 13.
Paper of all types, newspapers, magazines, cardboard, will be accepted and should be neatly stacked. Glass for recycling must be clean and separated into three categories, green, brown and clear.
Glass must be free of metal, as the small rings left from a twist off cap.
It is hoped that eventually the monthly volume of recycling material received will average twenty tons.
This service is for the entire county and should be used by all. Save your papers and glass and bring all of it to the recycling center. Pure aluminum can also be recycled, however, at present there is no outlet for other metals.
