eight tracK ana field athletes of Rappahannock County High School participated in regional competition Friday in Chesterfield. All of them qualified for the state track meet scheduled for this Saturday, May 22, at the University of Virginia at Charlottesville.
Fred Frye accomplished state qualifications with a 21 foot.1/4 inch performance in the long jump and in the triple jump his record was 42 feet 6 inch.
Donnel Carter, running fifth, set a new school record in the 880. His mark of 2:02.4 bettered John Summers previous mark of 2:08.8. Both young men are juniors.
