PANTHER

TALES

The count-down has begun, only eleven days of school to go!

Exams begin June 2nd and will continue through the last day of school. The exam schedule is 2-4 exams Wednesday 3-5 Thursday and 6-1 Friday. Seniors, as usual are exempt from taking an exam on any subject in which they’ve maintained a B average.

This week was loaded with plenty of good sports news.

Eight of our Track Panthers will be competing in Saturday’s State meet at U. VA. which begins at 11:00 a.m. From our Girls Team we have Eleanor Phillips, Jeanette Beebe, Janice Aylor, Dawn Keithley, Connie DelGrosso and Jamell Prudhum. Through the efforts of these girls last week, Rappahannock placed 3rd in the Regional meet. From our Boys’ Team will be Donnell Carter who recently set a new school record in the 1/2 mile and Fred Frye in the Long and Triple Jumps. Each of these Panthers has done outstanding jobs this year and we want to congratulate each of them for their fine performances. Best of luck at State!

Our Baseball team is still on top and going strong. Tuesday, May 11th they met with Madison, a close and exicting game. Rappahannock had been trailing 6-4 in the 7th inning when Perry Breedon came to bat. The out-come of the game rested on his shoulders and Perry came through 100%
