The LAA and County CorOJpitions were held on Dec. 20. Dunijg the LAA convention, I. Christop&er Parrish was selected by membebqif his community to serve onlfcfle county committee. Mr. Parrish gujnot serve on both the community and county committee, therefore lie is removed from service as members of LAA-3, advancing the remafhipg members in position, James F. Massie, Jr. and Dale Welch were elected first and second alternates to The county committee, respectively.
The county convention delegates selected Louis P. Moore, Jr. as Cfefc , chairperson for 1994 and I.R. Kilby was named vice .chairperson along with I. Christopher Parrish as committee member.

This winter is the perfect time for farmers to learn all the complicated worker protection regulations 'The Environmental Protection Agency will begin enforcing next April 15, accordingly to BrUCe Stone, safety coordinator for the Virginia Farm Bureau Federations.
Stone has a free copy of the “Reference Guide for EPA’s Worker Protection Standard” for any Farm Bureau member who wants one.„
Farmers should not wait until
this spring to familiarize themsah^p with the law, Stone warned.

The EPA announced a new set nf worker protection regulations lai summer to go into effect next yea£ Basically, they call for farm employers to make all safety information oh pesticides readily available to workers, train workers in the safe uije ftf farm chemicals and provide decontamination areas in case of an accident. For the first time, employees & the forestry and nursery busifte$ are also covered by these "regulations. All farmers, even thosewtio have no employees, must compty with at least some elements of tte new law. ,
