Two operating accounts will be maintained one for the water system and one for the town, and funds will not be transferred into those accounts until needed, said Ms. van Dort.
Once again, many more gallons of town water were pumped than were billed for. Some residences in town have water leaks which account for the high numbers, but the people are not billed for all the water. The council decided to give residents 60 days to correct their leaks. After that they will be billed for the water.
The Washington fire department has been receiving free water, but council decided at the meeting the fire department will receive 10,000 gallons a month free; they will be billed for water over that amount.
