Because only one member of the town council can also be a member of the town’s planning commission, Ms. van Dort resigned as a member of that commission. Council member Steve Critzer is a member of the planning commission and said he wishes to remain. Ms. van Dort suggested that whoever is appointed to replace her should be well educated about planning and zoning.
Mitzie Young’s term on the town planning commission expired on Oct. 1, and she said she wishes to remain on the commission.
Council member Charlie Tompkins said he believes the town should buy a state of the art computer and a better copy machine for the town office. This will be discussed at the next meeting after price estimates are obtained.
