horses are well-mannered and love people. My main concern is having shelter and water for them and someone to put on their blankets and feed them. I have excellent references if that will help. 1 can get them transported also. In return, once I get out. I’ll provide any type of work or riding lessons or I’ll pay for their care upon my release.

Ideals Upheld
To the Editor:
The election is over and almost none of the people that I voted for won their race. Yet on the morning after the election, I whistled as I walked to my office, and I walked with a light step. I was able to do so because I truly love and believe in the American republic and its democratic method of choosing new leaders. Through our nation’s darkest days and brightest moments it has served us well and distinguished us from all the other nations on earth.
One election ago, President Clinton began his inaugural speech by saying, “Today we celebrate the mystery of American renewal.” He said that renewal was, “Not change for change’s sake, but change to preserve Americans ideals — life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness. Though we march to the music of our time, our mission is timeless.”
Mr. Clinton had replaced President Bush, who had this to say in his own inaugural address: “Some see leadership as high drama, and the sound of trumpets calling, and sometimes it is that. But I see history as a
